Scott Gryder Announces Q1 Fundraising Totals
Energetic Start Shows Beginning of Highly Competitive Campaign
OSWEGO, Ill. (April 15, 2022) – Today, Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder, Republican candidate for Illinois 14th Congressional District, announced he raised a total of $67,712 during the first quarter of this year from 41 individual donors. Gryder reported $39,741 cash on hand remaining at the end of the period running from January 1st to March 31st. Noting a short fundraising window following the February 24, announcement of his challenge to incumbent Democrat, Lauren Underwood, Chairman Gryder thanked his supporters, stating:
“In just six short weeks since I announced my campaign to replace Lauren Underwood – who serves as a rubber stamp for Joe Biden and his disastrous policies – I have earned support from across the 14th Congressional District.
I want to thank those individuals who believe in my pro-growth, pro-family, pro-freedom message based upon a proven record as a consensus-building, pragmatic conservative with the right experience who prioritizes results over rhetoric and getting the job done for the hard-working people I serve as Kendall County Board Chairman.
I am thankful for the enthusiastic response to my message and candidacy. Yet, I am under no illusions that Lauren Underwood’s far-left friends and Washington, DC special interests will do anything they can to save her from defeat in November by pouring millions of dollars into her coffers to help her obfuscate her record of failed leadership in office.
While I am grateful for the support I have received so far, I continue to organize and spread the word that where Underwood has failed to lead, I will.
I will make public safety a priority and support the men and women of law enforcement who protect and serve our communities every day.
I will continue to fight for taxpayers, especially residents overburdened with surging property tax bills. I will keep bringing good paying jobs to the 14th District for those who struggle to make ends meet as we confront an economy in the grip of rising cost-of-living for everyday people.”
Chairman Gryder’s strong start puts him on pace to raise what he needs to win the Republican nomination in the competitive campaign to replace Lauren Underwood who is viewed as highly vulnerable in the General Election this coming November 8.
