Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder Reacts to Visit of Vice President Kamala Harris

OSWEGO, Ill. (June 24, 2022) – Vice President Kamala Harris, whose approval ratings have reached historic lows, today visited the Village of Plainfield, located in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, to prop up Congressional Democrat Lauren Underwood.

Noting the lack of public access to the invite-only event, Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder issued the following statement:

"Lauren Underwood knows she’s in trouble, and while Washington Democrats are pulling out all the stops to save her, sending in Kamala Harris – disapproved of by 52% of the nation – to headline a publicity stunt won’t fool the residents of the 14th District who want solutions to $6.00 per gallon gas, skyrocketing prices of meat, potatoes, and everything else.

At best, Vice President Harris and Lauren Underwood are deaf to the needs of the 14th District, or worse, they simply don’t care about the real pain their policies are inflicting upon the hard-working men and women of the 14th District.

I will stand up for Illinois families and fight back against Joe Biden’s freewheeling spending that drives the runaway inflation eating away at our paychecks, savings, security, and future.

If you’ve paid enough and need relief, I ask for your vote on June 28."

Currently serving as Kendall County Board Chairman, Scott Gryder is challenging Lauren Underwood for the future of Illinois' 14th District on behalf of the people he meets every day who need real relief.
